After reading the book Kids Deserve It by Todd Nesloney and Adam Welcome I grasped the understanding of making learning more meaningful and pushing the boundaries of conventional learning. I decided to take action. I have since created themed classroom learning experiences. For example one week my students became doctors. All of our content and learning standards were geared towards a doctor theme. To wrap it up a real doctor visited with my students! I continued these themed days throughout the year with a restaurant and St. Patrick's Day theme. My goal for myself is to further challenge my thinking and push my students to success by pushing boundaries and challenging engagement.
